An important exploration in my project began with an etymological investigation of terms such as germination, germ, seed, and embryo, seeking to understand the aesthetics of how the process of life begins. Inspired by my personal experience, I found beauty in the shoots emerging from tubers, the morphology of human organs, and how life can flourish even in asphalt.
The result of this research is Incarnated Nature, a collection inspired by the sprouting of life and the raw beauty of the process of nature becoming flesh, giving rise to roots that symbolize life and the transition to a new stage.
In this series, pieces that resemble human organs can be observed, while also sharing characteristics with plants. To approach this theme, I studied plant growth and compared the process from seed to plant with the development of ovum and sperm in morula. I realized that both plant growth and human tissues share a similar essence, revealing our fundamental connection with seeds and their roots.
Technically, the organic forms feature capillarity and translucency that resemble skin layers, incorporating the mechanisms of the brooches and transforming small sculptures into jewelry. In contrast, the necklace has been created by tying and wrapping the main structure to suggest the appearance of capillaries.
Una exploración importante en mi proyecto comenzó con una investigación etimológica de términos como germinación, germen, semilla y embrión, buscando comprender la estética del inicio del proceso de la vida. Inspirada por mi experiencia personal, encontré belleza en los brotes que emergen de los tubérculos, en la morfología de los órganos humanos y en cómo la vida puede florecer incluso en el asfalto.
El resultado de esta investigación es Naturaleza Encarnada, una colección inspirada en el brote de vida y en la belleza cruda del proceso de engendrar naturaleza que se hace carne, dando lugar a raíces que simbolizan la vida y la transición a una nueva etapa.
En esta serie, se pueden observar piezas que asemejan la forma de órganos humanos, pero que a su vez comparten características con las plantas. Para abordar este tema, observé el crecimiento de plantas y comparé el proceso de semilla a planta con el desarrollo de óvulo y esperma en mórula. Me di cuenta de que tanto el crecimiento vegetal como los tejidos humanos comparten una esencia similar, revelando nuestra conexión fundamental con las semillas y sus raíces.
A nivel técnico, las formas orgánicas presentan capilaridades y translucidez que se asemejan a las capas de piel, integrando los mecanismos de los broches y transformando pequeñas esculturas en joyas. En contraste, el collar se ha creado atando y envolviendo la estructura principal para sugerir la apariencia de capilaridades.
